We are pleased you have chosen Skidmore & Co CGA as your small business tax and accounting firm. We look forward to working with you. To benefit most from our first meeting, please review the appropriate checklists and bring the following documents to your first appointment.

Existing Corporations

  • Most recently prepared year-end financial statements
  • Last filed corporate return and Notice of Assessment or Reassessment
  • Corporate records book (if your lawyer maintains this we may contact them directly)
  • Photo identification (Driver’s license or passport)
  • Questions
  • Concerns

New Corporations

  • Corporate records book (if your lawyer maintains this we may contact them directly)

Your first appointment is scheduled for a maximum of one hour; during this time we will:

  • Request that you sign an Engagement letter outlining the nature of the work undertaken
  • Record the basic information including the company’s address, business number, etc.
  • Request that you sign the Canada Revenue Agency Consent form (RC59)
  • Obtain a copy of your identification
  • Request a retainer for the services engaged

Personal Tax

  • Prior year tax return
  • Prior year Notice of Assessment or Reassessment
  • Photo identification (Driver’s license or passport)
  • Tax documents – see the various checklists for your specific tax area(s)
  • Questions
  • Concerns

Your first appointment is scheduled for a maximum of 30 minutes; during this time we will:

  • Request that you sign an Engagement letter outlining the nature of the work undertaken
  • Record your basic information including your address, birth date, marital status, etc.
  • Request that you sign the Canada Revenue Agency Consent form (T1013)
  • Obtain a copy of your identification
